This blog grew from an e-mail chain that started with part of my extended family. I received a forwarded e-mail following the 2004 presidential election that wasn't intended for me. It was what can be described as a shrieking wail/guttural moan from an ardent lefty. I sent out a counter, which spawned several chains of discussion amongst the family. I did not reply immediately, but when I finally did respond, it was in a serial attempt to redirect the conversation.
