I missed this the first time around last month(when Boing Boing, et al. had it), but it's making the rounds again on talk radio. Truffle quote from Dr. Andrew Hardell of the University of Alberta:
"Most parents will react to this with shock and dismay. They’ll say ‘I love my kids and I don’t discriminate on the basis of attractiveness.’ The point of our research is that people do"
Can anybody else see a new affirmative action program coming? How about a jobs program? The cool thing about this is that we don't have to worry about that pesky self-identification like we have to for race or sex-based programs. We can send out armies of observers to classify the ugly, killing two birds with one stone. The possibilities give me goose bumps.
