As soon as the Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament is over. The
basketball season ended for Troglotykes #1 & #2 this week and 'Tyke #3 a
couple of weeks ago, so I think I can see the horizon.
As for the hockey tournament, mine has been made already because I went in
with an "Anybody but Roseau" mentality, and they lost to Grand Rapids in
the quarterfinals. Frankly, I'm tired of the vehement sentimentality of
Twin Citians around the northern "Davids" against the suburban "Goliaths"
schtick that rightly should have ended with 1.) open enrollment, and 2.)
the two class system where northern towns can become regional powers every
bit as much as a suburban school. And we still have my perfect tournament
scenario for an all fish stick-eater final between Cretin-Derham Hall and
Hill Murray intact. If Holy Angels isn't going to be in the tourney, this
would make for a good alternative.
